Rendang refers to a cooking technique called 'marandang' which means to drain the water. Not only meat rendang, there are various types of rendang, from plant-based to animal-based. In general, rendang is divided into two versions, namely the Darek and Pesisir versions. The majority of people do not know that the types of rendang are very diverse, so the knowledge of rendang needs to be preserved by documenting the recipes of various rendang dishes. The people of West Sumatra, the origin of rendang, need to preserve this information and pass on the skills of cooking various types of rendang to the younger generation so that they can help maintain the cultural heritage of traditional West Sumatran cuisine. This design uses the Glass Box Method. The design method consists of stages (1) Preparation, (2) Incubation, (3) Lumination, (4) Verification. Data collection methods through interviews, data observation, and literature study. Then the analysis approach with 5W + 1H i.e. What, Who, Where, When, Why, How. This design produces the main media output in the form of e-books and supporting media in the form of Instagram post, poster, banner, apron, bookmark, stickers, and notebook. The outcome of this design can be a guide, reference, and source of learning in the world of traditional cuisine as well as in Visual Communication Design
